A sealant is an invisible plastic resin coating places on the chewing surface of a child’s back adult teeth once they are fully erupted. The chewing surfaces of our back teeth are not smooth or as easy to clean with a tooth brush. The grooves on back teeth trap bacteria and food particles, and toothbrush bristles can’t always clean these crevices, creating the perfect condition for tooth decay. A sealant smooths these surfaces, making them more resistant to decay.
Splints (Occlusal Guards)
Splints protect the teeth and relieve pain for those who grind their teeth or have TMJ problems. Splints are typically worn at night. They are the least invasive way to protect your teeth from damage and resolve any TMJ disorders.
Occlusal adjustments change the shape of your teeth very slightly and do not require a crown or veneer. If your bite is off or if you are unhappy with the shape of a tooth, an occlusal adjustment can help.

“Happy Visits” for Your Kiddos
Most young children are afraid of doctors and dentists. When you bring your child who is three-years-old or older in for a checkup and exam, we try to make the experience as fun as possible. Your child’s “happy visit” includes a ride in the exam chair, looking at cartoons while we count his or her teeth, and a complementary balloon at the end of the visit. Parents are absolutely allowed into the treatment room with their children.
